In the discussion of drugs, one highly controversial issue has always been marijuana. On one hand, some people argue that marijuana should not be legalized. On the other hand, other people contend that it should be legalized. Others even maintain a neutral attitude on the situation. My own view is that marijuana should be legalized.

It has been scientifically proven that marijuana does not have man made chemicals in its pure form. People who say they are addicted to marijuana are either, trying to be cool, weak willed or just stupid. Marijuana in this situation is even less deadly than smoking cigarettes, which is legalized in the United States. The logic behind this baffles me as to why a man made product can be legal but a plant from the earth cannot be.

Marijuana is also said to make people more dangerous than normal, which in my eyes, is complete bullshit. In my experiences with the substance i've sat there and talked to people or played video games. People are more at risk consuming alcohol than smoking marijuana. When drunk you become clumsy and sometimes incredibly violent. Not saying people don't get this, when they are high, but allowing a product that has a higher possibility to doing this to be legal than a product that might do so.

Marijuana is used in most cases of making people happy. It increases sensations in the body. Food tastes better, bad things don't phase you as bad and it makes things funnier. Smoking cigarettes not only is addictive but can cause lung cancer, where they actually use marijuana medically to help make pains go away and help people eat.

Why only give marijuana to people with problems? Doing so makes some good citizens deal with criminals. Putting money in their pockets brings up crime rate. With cigarettes and alcohol legal marijuana could be used for similar uses without destroying lives. So I believe marijuana should be legalized.
